This cemetery was bulldozed, against protest, during the
construction of the current Golden Triangle Regional Airport and
again in 2003 by the Airport Authority, after
3 years of negotiotions with the descendants to preserve the
cemetery. It contains the remains of the grandparents of singer
Jackie Wilson as well-as those of basketball star Clarence
Weatherspoon.
