Contacted: Mindenmines City Hall,    a poor  community apparently without funds to maintain the cemetery.

Other Information

Not only were these folks early settlers but soldiers in the Civil war. I understand by the records at the Lamar Historical Society that there are two soldiers whose headstones are readable, plus about 15 or so others that are readable. It was told to us, by City Hall, that a farmer plowed up part of the cemetery, thinking it belonged to him for agricultural use.

Support

Former "unknown" graduates of the "former" Mindenmines High School have protested, according to the historian at Lamar, the county seat of Barton County MO. I do not know who else would be supportive.
