Update 2:

Cain Cemetery Reclaimation Project began 8 July 2003. More than 800 hours have been spent in cleaning, clearing and resetting fallen stones. Project leader is Mandi Brown, 303 Park Avenue, Maryville, Mo 64460. Phone : 660-582-5025 Email: brownmandi0911@yahoo.com Donations badly needed. Family members of Cain interred please contact.

Update 3:

As of 20 Mar 2004 more then 1200 hours have been expended on this reclaimation project. An area of 30 feet by 170 feet remains to be cleared of debris. Many stones have been cleaned, repaired and placed back in position. Project leader Mandi Brown has arranged with local volunteers to continue the clean-up efforts. One item of interest is the new gate sign. It will proudly display the name carved in a pine tree. All research has indicated that this will be the only cemetery in Northwest Missouri that has a name carved from wood grown at the site. Anticipated rededication to be Memorial Day 2004. Will advise if changed. All interested parties should contact Project Manager, Mandi Brown by email or phone: brownmandi0911@hotmail.com or 660-582-5025.
