Other_Information:
About a year ago, I heard that the state/city was trying to sell
the cemetery for a bus transit system. The phone number on the
gate list the Hospital, which claims no knowledge of the
cemetery. I am afraid the state/city has not given up on selling
the cemetery. My great grandfather, the inventor and builder of
a Civil war submarine is buried there. I am unable to visit his
grave or get a marker on it. There are pictures of the cemtery
at http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/la/orleans/charity.htm
which shows the many small red & yellow flags on 6" wires stuck
in many spots in the cemetery. Barb wire was recently installed
on top of the fence.
