Other problems: Mr. Burton has requested a permit to place a rock quarry and asphalt plant on the property.  Blasting has already occurred causing damage to the cemetery.  Locked gates and a barbed wire fence around the cemetery have denied family members the ability to access the cemetery for maintenance and headstone repair.  Access to the cemetery is only allowed during regular work hours during the week--no weekend or holiday access is allowed.  I, myself, have not been able to get into the cemetery for over two years, and have only been able to get to the perimeter of the cemetery once  since that time, and that was with a television camera and reporter accompanying me.  The family and friends of those buried there have received no cooperation from the landowner, local or state authorities concerning this matter.
Previous contacts: Local and state authorities who have done nothing to help us.  Local television has covered this story for the last three years.  Assistance has been offered by local DAR and other historic organizations.
Current Status: Planning stages
