Other information
The African #2 Cemetery (8 acres) is currently being restored and
mowed by volunteers each year. There are jockeys, buffalo soldiers,
vets, and former slaves buried there with a total of 5,000 graves. It
is becoming clear that this forgotten cemetery was an important part
of Lexington's history.
