Previous contacts: We are currently organizing an effort to find answers.  At the moment the cemetery is a sore subject with all officials involved.  They want it to disappear.  This is an emergency! I have just learned that there are approx. 150 people buried in this one acre sight that is about to be swallowed by water. We know that there are only about 20 headstones left though. Many are to be found on the bottom of the lagoon behind it. The last body was buried in 1965. The last ashes were buried in 1989.
Work Status: Planning stages

Additional Information: Bachelor's Grove Restoration Project

I wanted to let you know that the Restoration has a new web address at www.bachelorsgrove.org. Things are moving along slowly yet we have accomplished quite a bit of research on those buried at the cemetery. Sadly most records are missing and the families are proving difficult to contact. We are hoping that more volunteers will come forward soon. A new small sign will also be placed at the cemetery in the coming weeks until the restoration is fully underway.
