Other Information

The cemetery has fallen on hard times due to the home not being able to afford the upkeep of the home and the cemetery. Years ago the Cemetery Grounds Keepers Union handled it but when the funding got tight they stopped.

Update

On June 23, and 24, The Historical Society of Forest Park with the help of Dan Hynes State Comptroller and his staff, The Cook County Sheriff Police Swap Team, The Village of Forest Park's Mayor Anthony T. Calderone, the Forest Park Public Works Dept, Fox Television for doing the News Broadcast of the Cleanup. And Volunteers from Chicago, Berwyn, Oak Park, River Forest, Maywood, and Forest Park Illinois. all the headstones were set upright and the overgrowth of The Altenheim Old People's Home Cemetery was cut back and removed all trash was removed and the place was cleaned. now comes the task of recording all the dates of the headstones and the names of the people buried within.
