Other Information
An archeologist has been advised of this
cemetery since local citizens have advised it was also an Indian Burial
Ground during the 1800's. There is only one stone left standing. The
archeologist visited the site with a neighbor and took pictures of this
stone. He also took pictures of eight bases to stones that had been
pushed into a ravine. He also noted several indentations of graves. The
owners of the property advised their were no burials on the property but
then stated the remaining stone had been moved several times due to a
logging operation because it was in the way. The pictures show the stone
has not been moved. However, other stones were. The property (including
the cemetery) is for sale for a subdivision. All information and
pictures have been turned over to the State of Idaho Historical Society.
County officials have also been advised of the desecration and attempt
to sell the land.
