Current Status
In the early part of 1999, the State of DE Attorney General's
office and Lombardy Cemetery owner, Arthur Glick, reached a partial
agreement, by which Glick admitted 62 violations of the Consumer Fraud
Act. The settlement called for Glick to surrender his corporation, the
cemetery and a small perpetual care trust fund of $14,000 to the
adjoining Jewish Community Cemetery Association.
While the official ownership status of the cemetery is apparently
still in limbo, the grass goes uncut, weeds continue to grow and large
potholes have developed in the paths. Recently, several old graves
have been inexplicably excavated.
