Other Information

This cemetery is the burial site of Henry Columbus Emerson who was a well known and respected citizen of Van Buren County. He was elected to the State Legislature in 1890 and served in the session of 1891. His son Dick Emerson erected a memorial to Henry and his drowned family in the 1950's. It is my understanding that the Little Red River has eroded the roads that take you to this cemetery and that it is very difficult to reach at this time. The cemetery borders on the property of Cephus Waddle and is also known to the Koone family and various members of the Emerson family, including Grady Emerson of Clinton, and Carlos Emerson of Hector, AR.
