Location

I can't locate it at this time but I have a copy of a page from a book I reviewed at the Dallas, TX library. It would have been a book concerning Pickens City, Alabama.

Description

It sits in the woods on the western bank of the Tom Bigbee River in Pickens City, Alabama; just east of Macon, MS. There was a town there at one time but it is long gone.

Problem

It sits on wooded land and has fallen to decay. I'm sure it's been vandalized. I couldn't even find it but my uncle went in the woods and found it. It's not a big area but there are signs up about "bow hunting only" so I was worried about going in. Old Memphis was an important town at one time-the ferries crossed the river there. Quite a few of my relatives are buried there along with a lot of other distinguished people who lived there.

Previous Contacts

I tried contacting a government agency but got no response. I don't know where else to turn.

Current Status

Horrible.
