Other_Information

was visiting Ala, my g-father supposedto be buried in this cemetery, was apalled at condition, Tp hanging from trees, beer cans, bottles, mausoleum no door, no contents, graffiti, headstones broken , fallen over, turned upside down sitting on bases, no gate, uneven road to get in, in general pitiful way to treat the dead, never, saw anything like this before..needs something done, before long, looks as to parties go on in there.....

In response to the last posting: Several of my ancestors (surnames- Melvin and Quarrels))are buried at Bass. My understanding is that that the property was donated to the community in the early 1800's by Mr. Bass. Today, most of the cemetery is unkept and vandalized. My family has attempted to maintain and preserve our ancestor's graves. I am not sure what the future holds for the cemetery
